Manufacturing engineering position within the Manufacturing Engineer Group supporting Plastics, including SMC press engineering, water jet, bonding and foaming engineering duties. Responsible for all aspects of engineering analysis and design. 2. Provides leadership in the design and development of Engineering projects with minimal direct supervision. 3. Provides leadership in the shop floor support and Kaizen activities within the respective department and directs the activities of project teams and small group activities. 4. Performs process analysis and design and applies formal design of experiment techniques. 5. Provides direction to other engineers as well as maintenance and Unit Technicians. 6. Manages major capital projects and provides capital forecasts. 7. Serve as active member of Manufacturing Engineering Team. 8. Provides leadership to the Kaizen and process improvement activities with the production and maintenance personnel. 9. Trains others in formal engineering problem solving techniques. 10. Communicates to all appropriate levels/organizations within company.GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:Education / Experience 4 year technical degree required. Degree may be waived for proven, demonstrated, specialized, technical expertise of 8 years or more. Minimum of 2-5 years experience in an engineering role in a manufacturing environment, with progressively greater response.Other Required Skills: Previous experience in plastics, Fanuc programming, high volume production.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.Additional notes from manager: Degree preferred in Mechanical, Plastics or Electrical Engineering, if not 2-5 years experience in fixturing, drilling, gluing and assembly. Also looking for experience in Robot Programming (Panasonic / Fanuc), fixture design or build, process documentation and PLC use. Experience with SMC or compression molding desirable but not a requirement. | ||
