Responsibilities and Requirements : CCNA or CCNP, five to fifteen years active experience with computer network support using routers, switches firewalls and security devices. Experience with network design and implementation. Strong command of routing protocols, network protocols, principles of computer security and network management.Desired skillsDOD 8570 compliance, team leadership experience, VOIP, strong written and oral skills.Specific Job DescriptionNetwork Engineering Support using TCPIP over Ethernet networks running on Cisco routers and switches, Foundry switches, Juniper routers and Intrusion Protection devices, Checkpooint Firewalls and Blue Coat web proxies.Standard Job DescriptionDesigns and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.Security ClearanceTop SecretTypical MinimumsBachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.
