30-40 deliveries/year, so OB is not always open and the nurse must be comfortable taking care of the Medsurg patient. She/He must also be able to do both L & D and nursery, as usually only one nurse is staffed in OB for one mother/baby. The shifts might be 8hr. and 12 hr. mix, depending on facility needs.
