Our major biotech client is looking for an Occupational Health Nurse for a 1 YEAR position in Seattle, WA.
SUMMARY: Provides professional Occupational Health nursing services focused on programs to enhance the health and safety of company staff and meet compliance with applicable regulations.
FUNCTIONS (Duties/Accountabilities) 1. Provides nursing services such as first aid/emergency response within the scope of nursing license. 2. Provides occupational and non occupational health services appropriate for site. 3. Conducts medical clearance exams or referrals to local medical provider. 4. Provides medical case management of disability and workers compensation cases. 5. Dispenses standard medication in accordance with written protocols. 6. Maintains medical information and records in a confidential manner. 7. Participates in medical response activities, drills, etc. 8. Consults with contracted site medical provider and/or corporate Occupational Health when needed. 9. Participates in incident investigation with EHS business partners. 10. Acts as liaison between health care providers, staff member and Amgen in health related issues. 11. Consults with management, legal and HR for health/accommodation issues. 12. Operates personal computer 13. Provides periodic health counseling and education. ***Other functions that may be assigned.
Requirements - Education/Licenses: Registered Nurse licensed in the state of Washington - Minimum: AA, AS, Diploma Nurse, BSN or BA degree or equivalent experience. - Preferred: Certification in Occupational Health Nursing. - Current certification in CPR with AED. - Experience: 3-7 years of experience in Occupational Health Nursing
Physical: - Non-confined office type environment - Standing, walking or moving around offices, work site or among company Buildings - Climbing, crawling, crouching, or other non-sitting activities on a periodic/infrequent basis. - Controlled office environment. - Lifting, carrying items of up to 25 pounds. Pushing or pulling of wheeled items that could weigh in excess of 150 pounds. - Visual/mental concentration on specialized equipment and instruments used in laboratories or medical clinic for purposes of monitoring health status. - Environmental: Office environment or clean work area with potential exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials.
