Summary
This position is responsible for software quality assurance testing of systems and application changes made by IT Application Development for Medicare Part D. Quality Assurance testing includes the design, documentation and execution of test plans, test cases, documentation of test results and defect reporting and ensuring all defects are resolved. It includes testing databases, interfaces, end to end and regression testing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Review and understand Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and Technical Specifications
* Write Test Plans based on BRD and Technical Specifications and review with subject matter experts
* Design, write and execute test cases for all supported applications and change requests
* Verify that all changes are correct and the application functions as described in the Business Requirements.
* Document test results and update TeamTrack with all supporting test documentation.
* Work effectively with business analysts, developers and designers to ensure projects are properly tested and defects are resolved
* Communicate status and progress of testing effort to manager and project team members
* Conduct post production testing when appropriate

Education / Training / Experience
* Bachelor's Degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
* Experience with Excel spreadsheets and .csv files
* Experience with txt files and zip files (Winzip)

* 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, system integration testing, functional testing, positive and negative testing, end to end testing, regression testing, etc.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of software testing methodology and best practices while maintaining and enforcing quality standards
* SQL experience in writing queries to validate data in databases and tables
* Experienced in back end testing, database testing and manual testing
