The candidate will work as part of a team focused on new product development as well as physical testing and improvements of existing ink systems. The core focus for this position will be the development of new solvent based and water based ink systems for flexible packaging. This would include applications such as surface printing and reverse printing plastic films. B.S/ M.S in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical/Material Engineering, or a related science-based field. Minimum 2 years work experience in a research environment. 3-5 years of experience with printing ink, paint, or coatings chemistry is desirable Experience in the development of solvent based and water based fluid inks for use in flexible packaging printing Experience in the development of solvent based inks for lamination structures Knowledge of flexible packaging lamination techniques and end use requirements Strong fundamental knowledge in chemistry and chemical laboratory practices Knowledge and experience with analytical equipment such as FTIR, GC, GC/MS, HPLC, Karl Fischer, etc. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated team work ethic
