Job Title R&D Intern - Device Development
External Job Description Hospira aspires to provide our co-op/intern students an opportunity to make a difference and at the same time provide a valuable learning opportunity. The candidate will be involved through all phases of the product development process of sophisticated electromechanical medical devises; and covers the full range from initial design, through prototyping and in to final testing. The ideal candidate should be an innovative, creative and a well organized self-starter. You will be applying mathematical theory and engineering principles including statistical analysis of complex data. You will also be involved with hands on engineering work such as prototype fabrication and assembly of complex electromechanical systems. After your experience, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of medical device industry operations and build a solid foundation for future professional growth.

Core responsibilities: Component and system engineering, theoretical analysis and simulation, performance and data analysis, failure investigations, testing, documentation, presentation of engineering data and recommendations and design and fabrication of test fixtures.
Skills/Experience Education/Certification * Must have completed his/her freshman year of college. Graduate students are also encouraged to apply.
* Major in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
