The company manufactures cleaners for farm animals and clean in place equipment. As head of the Hygiene Global Center you will manage, communicate and coordinate all global hygiene development projects and initiatives. The R&D Manager is also responsible for bringing new / or improved products to market by planning, conducting, and supervising research of both new and applied chemistry and engineering. The R&D Manager is also responsible for recommending concepts, practices or processes to improve existing products and/or create new products, systems, or services. Requirements: 1. Bachelors degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or equivalent; Masters Degree is preferred. 2. 7+ years in the development of cosmetics, skin care, soaps, lotions or animal hygiene products. 3. Good working knowledge of the chemical 4. Prior management or leadership experience. 5. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Duties: 1. Coordinate with the sales and marketing departments to establish new product development requirements. 2. Lead a team of 4 in the research and development of new products and monitor performance, using the Common Process Plan (CPP) as the product development process plan. 3. Interact with animal industry peers, organizations, and universities to obtain / update information and recommend new product and equipment technology. 4. Support and recommend to existing product line for cost and performance improvement. 5. Develop specific timetables of all new projects and outline all laboratory and field test protocols. 6. Manage R&D personnel according to company standards (performance reviews, discipline and training and development) and department budget. 7. Institute and improve testing methods for product evaluation 8. Provide required information and coordinate with regulatory compliance personnel. 9. Maintain competitive product database file. 10. Assist Dealers, sales and marketing (domestic and international) and manufacturing departments. 11. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers 12.
