Vesta Teleradiology is actively recruiting for a Radiology Technologist for various clients in the continental US.
The Radiology Technologist:
- Performs a variety of procedures/studies in accordance with established operating procedures and routines accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assists in the administration of contrast media in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
- Demonstrates concern and empathy while performing procedures in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner.
- Prepares and positions patients and equipment in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures.
- Obtains high quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images.
- Maintains proactive, effective communication with patients and radiologists regarding any and all findings patient histories and test results as appropriate.
- Collaborates and confers with all colleagues and members of the healthcare team.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate equipment for imaging and anything related to various areas of the body in order to provide high-quality images and information for patient diagnosis.
- Address patient concerns during the procedures, and explain the MRI process to the patient in a way that is informative but also reassuring.
- Use tact, courtesy and poise when dealing with patients, keeping them calm and ensuring that they get the best care possible.
- Communicate effectively with other radiologists and health care professionals to ensure the message is getting across appropriately.
- Troubleshoot peripheral equipment and scanners to ensure that equipment is operating properly to avoid downtime or delays that affect patient satisfaction.
- Ensure patient safety with aseptic injection technique and pre-screening for any contra-indications before the procedure.
- Provide training to new technologists with regular checks, direction and qualified work samples performed by an experienced team member.
- Handle high-stress environments in a calm manner when dealing with patients, technicians and physicians.
Job Qualifications
Required
- Current state licensing
- Associate degree
- Current CPR certification
Preferred
- Experience working in high-stress environments
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Ability to travel to different facilities
