SAFETY COORDINATOR

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Here's the technical stuff but it's worth a read as this will be your daily to-do list.
- Implement safety programs to prevent & correct unsafe & environmental working conditions.
- Utilize knowledge of industrial processes, industrial health & safety laws.
- Collaborate with clients & contractors to institute control & remedial measures for hazardous & potentially hazardous conditions or equipment.
- Visit jobsites to inspect fire & safety equipment, machinery & facilities, then identifies/corrects potential hazards to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Train managers, foremen & crew members on safety regulations.
- Conduct/coordinate safety training to educate workers about safety policies, laws & practices.
- Investigate industrial accidents to minimize recurrence.
- Document findings & code sections violated.
- Interpret applicable laws/regulations to advise employer on legal requirements.
- Photograph work environment suspected of endangering workers to provide evidence in legal proceedings.
- Maintain a working knowledge of industry specific standards, programs & goals.
WHERE & WHEN YOU'LL DO IT
- Beautiful Orange, California
- Day Shift Flexible start time 6:00 am to 8:00 am 10-hour days
- Monday thru Friday
- Every other Saturday

- High school education/GED
- Minimum 2 years of safety experience/knowledge
- Minimum 3 years of warehouse experience
- 2 years of Bridge Crane and/or Forklift Experience preferred
- Familiar with OSHA regulations as well as with regulatory & environmental requirements.
- Ability to correct unsafe conditions in a timely fashion.
- Capacity to effectively communicate & influence others Ability to be flexible & work as a team player.
- Experience as a trainer in safety subjects Ability to organize, prioritize & meet deadlines.
- Understanding & recognizing safety hazards.
- Problems solving skills Ability to execute action plans.
