This role will be based in Singapore.
Reports directly to the Regional HSSE Manager of PAFE.
OBJECTIVE:
This position provides support and assistance to the Reg HSSE Manager to:
- Support OnG and PG operations
- Encourage compliance to the Solar HSSE programs - incident investigation and close out of INIs, monthly reporting of stats, employee training and tracking of training,
- Conduct periodic gap analysis of each districts performance
- promote Safety awareness and delivery of "awareness level safety courses" for field personnel
- Monitor compliance of Solar personnel to travel and security policies across the region
- Site visits and interact with customers to resolve safety issues
DIMENSIONS:
This position implements and monitors the health, safety, security, and environmental policies and procedures developed in Customer Services for field operations in PAFE.
Works under the guidance of HSSE management as a safety process person; interfacing with San Diego based personnel as well as field personnel to enhance the resilience of the company’s processes, and compliance to said processes. Interaction and collaboration with a wide range of personnel both within and outside of Solar, including field employees, customers, technical training, regulatory bodies, legal, project management, and business development.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position works under the leadership and guidance of the regional management team, ensuring compliance to established safety processes.
In addition, the position will have opportunity to utilize lean 6 sigma methodology to ensure existing HSSE procedures and enabling systems benefit from maximum efficiency and minimum beaureaxracy.
The position requires a strong understanding of local and international safety codes, standards, and management systems.
Product knowledge and/or field experience in the oil & gas or power generation industries is a plus.
Applicant must possess effective written, oral, and presentation skills, and matching computer skills, including presentations.
Must be comfortable working in a highly interactive team environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Considerable travel is necessary.
Working knowledge of Mandarin/Cantonese/Malay a plus.
The applicant should ideally have offshore experience and must also be prepared to go offshore for short trips as/when required.
Thus, must pass the full Solar medical for offshore and remote environs and the BOSIET/HUET on a regular on-going basis to be able to execute his/her duties satisfactorily in this position.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidate should ideally have more than 6 years experience in either a field or H&S role.
Requires education equivalent of a B.S. degree in a related field/product.
Cross functional transfers across other disciplines within the company will also be considered.
Qualification as a Certified Safety Professional is preferred but not mandatory- however study towards a CP qualification will be strongly encouraged.
Active Membership within HSE related professional bodies is desirable.
Security management experience and qualification as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) is acceptable.
