Position Summary



MTI, Inc. is looking for a dedicated and reliable person who likes working with his or her hands and is able to follow procedures, get our products ready for final shipment, and ship them out the door. Attention to detail in following instructions, dependability, cooperation, and a willingness to learn is key to this position as you grow in your ability backup the shipping supervisor when necessary. You will have a can-do attitude and like working on your own while in a busy team environment. Using systems to research and print information is necessary. Your contributions are important in creating awesome medical device products that help doctors and patients.

 


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work


  • Full-time 40-hours per week, paid hourly.

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 30-minute unpaid lunch, occasional overtime.


Tasks & Requirements


  • Experience following directions, working independently, and assuming responsibility for given tasks.

  • We are willing to train the right person with or without experience or education.

  • Perform final quality checks on products to make sure they are clean, match packing information, are shrink wrapped appropriately, and properly packaged, assembled, anchored, banded, and weighed.

  • Use proper forklift training and techniques to load boxes up to 6-feet in size onto semitrucks.

  • Work with tools for minor assembly and bolting large, heavy products to pallets—use screw gun, drill, socket gun, and similar pneumatic hand tools, banding reels, large and small cardboard boxes, and operate a miter saw and forklift.

  • Packing large products and boxing small parts for parcel shipping—about 2 hours daily, assembly using tools—2-3 hours daily, and cleaning and wiping down finished products—about 5-6 hours daily.

  • Clean and maintain an orderly work area.

  • Detail-oriented in following directions, making improvements to your own work, and learning and taking correction when errors occur.


Preferred Education and Experience


  • High school graduation or equivalent.

  • At least 1 year of related experience in a warehouse environment.

  • Forklift certification or experience.

  • Experience using computers and UPS software “WorldShip.”


Work Environment


  • Indoors!

  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE)—safety shoes, glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.

  • Able to lift up to 50-60 pounds frequently, and up to 90 pounds very infrequently.

  • Work with tight deadlines.

  • Warehouse environment:

    • Medium to loud noise levels.

    • Occasionally around or near moving parts or machinery.
