POSITION SUMMARY

Shipping Support team members will maintain real-time records and assist with all stages of outbound over-the-road finished goods shipments and inbound truckload shipments of both MXS raw material and customer-furnished equipment (CFE).



KEY FUNCTIONS




  • Ensures each truck is checked in, using written truck log, and directs truck to appropriate area (i.e., staging area, production loading area, receiving dock, etc.)

  • Updates the electronic shipping schedule with information obtained from truck check in to provide visual management of shipping status

  • Notifies staged drivers to proceed to production loading area, per Production alerts as received

  • Checks all outbound loads to ensure finished goods loaded match driver’s Bill of Lading and updates electronic shipping schedule accordingly

  • Coordinates with carriers and brokers by email or phone to provide available appointment times

  • Coordinates with CFE Manager/Team on all CFE inbound and outbound loads to minimize truck congestion at docks, unloading or apron areas

  • Issues oral instructions to various internal groups and drivers using phone, text, and/or communications band (CB) radio

  • Coordinates with Receiving team on all MXS inbound truck loads to minimize truck congestion at docks, unloading or apron areas

  • Follows verbal instructions in support of Shipping, Receiving, and Production groups, as needed

  • Issues written and oral instructions

  • Perform other duties as assigned



REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Certifications, And Other Skills)




  • High School Diploma/GED

  • General Mathematical Skills

  • General computer knowledge required

  • Ability to effectively communicate with drivers, functional groups, and coworkers

  • Ability to work cooperatively with all functional groups and drivers

  • Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions

  • Ability to perform responsibilities without the necessity of close supervision

  • Ability to thrive in a fast pace environment

  • Ability to meet attendance standards and work the hours necessary to perform essential job functions

  • Able to multitask and maintain a positive attitude

  • Observes all policies and procedures

  • Must have the willingness to learn

  • Detail oriented

  • Keep a clean and organized work area

  • Must follow all MXS safety policies

  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check



PHYSICAL DEMANDS




  • Ability to frequently utilize hand functions requiring fine motor skills including but not limited to typing, filing, operating copier, and associated fine manipulation skills required

  • Ability to remain in seated, desk-oriented position

  • Ability to walk 75 yards, checking on trucks, receiving, shipping, etc.

  • Ability to frequently read, comprehend, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, communicate orally, reason and analyze



WORK ENVIRONMENT




  • Predominately transportation gate office environment, with limited time in Production areas and the Warehouse.

  • Production and Warehouse conditions subject to excessive noise, heat, or cold.
