NO THIRD PARTIES, NO CORP TO CORP, NO H-1 TRANSFERS SALARY IS OPEN - DEPENDS UPON EXPERIENCE Responsibilities Design and implement improvements for the mainframe system software maintenance protocol to include all software from machine-level microcode to operating system and third-party products. Provide project leadership through standard tools such as Microsoft Project to lead mainframe system initiatives that are tightly-integrated with distributed networks. Design and implement the sysplex configuration and tuning measures for a geographically-dispersed parallel sysplex (GDPS) environment and this includes recommendation to management for hardware and software changes. Design and implement I/O definition changes for all aspects of mainframe configurations including in-depth knowledge of IBM processor capabilities, DASD capabilities, and tape silo capabilities. Provide on-call support for mainframe system problems on a rotating basis. Qualifications Excellent experience in z/OS mainframe operating system software installation and support. Excellent experience in z/OS-related mainframe third-party system software. Excellent experience with design, tuning and support of a large-scale mainframe sysplex environment. Excellent experience in designing and configuring large-scale mainframe I/O systems. Excellent experience in disaster recovery of mainframe sysplex environments.
