Jan - Apr 2014: Bombardier Aerospace, Montreal, Canada
( Continuous Improvement Specialist for the CSeries - Internship
Leveraged strong knowledge of continuous improvement processes as an Intern
with Bombardier Aerospace assigned to the cockpit and rear fuse assembly
area and identified various sources of waste, time loss and inefficiencies
in completing assembly on time. Observed in detail how processes were
completed and identified deficiencies, implemented Lean principles that
reduced waste, leveled processes for time and cost efficient manufacturing.
< Identified the missing tools needed to complete jobs, made a list and
ensured each tool was placed in each workstation that facilitated waste
reduction and efficiency/productivity improvements in the manufacturing
line.
< Successful in reading Engineering drawings from the production manual
which had numerous mistakes and discussed with the method agent, noting
mistakes in specs, numbers and values-recommended corrections that were
completed resulting in process flow improvements.
< Recommended the use of drill jig, improving process with accuracy in
drilling which saves quality time, implemented for the next aircraft
assembly-noting marked improvements and results.
< Reduced overall assembly time by 50%, optimized processes to achieve
excellence system of Bombardier Aerospace and kept open communications
between Method, Quality and Logistics Departments.
Apr - Jun 2013: SONACA Montreal, Canada
( Lean Advancement in Aerospace - Project
Provided value stream mapping for entire wing panel assembly process
including machining, deburring, NDT's, saturation shot blasting, forming,
inspection etc. and provided analysis of entire process for a disorganized
manufacturing process, with planning instructions being overlooked. SONACA
is an aerospace company that produces wing panels for numerous Bombardier
aircrafts.
< Improved changeover times in saturation shot blasting used to strengthen
the wing and efficiently relieve stresses.
< Identified and improved a backlog of NDT processes utilizing an inactive
2nd crane that increased service by suggesting a maintenance program to
existing crane to facilitate minimization of breakdown issues.
< Utilized a first in/first out strategy, supermarket pull systems, Kanban
systems, continuous flow, improving lead-time and planning committee
delivering strategic processes that drove manufacturing excellence.
