Provided support and enhancements to the Digital Work billing system. Helped move the installation of the
Digital Work billing system from one server to another for increased speed and space. Added modifications to
the Digital Work billing system to make the system easier to use and more effective.
Performed optimizations to the existing Perl/Postgres search engines. Recommended new hardware for the
Postgres database and did some optimization of long running Postgres SQL queries.

Created architectural designs using UML for the bX project with the chief architect and the bX team. Evaluated
technologies for this project including Oracle (RAC, Data Guard, OWB), and Java (Birt, JPA, SAX, JMS, JMX).
Completed set of features for the Voyager Web OPAC (Card Catalog on Line). This involved some XSL, CSS,
HTML as well as Java Servlet coding for the export, print and bibliographic logging features.
Oversaw the several releases of the JOS (Journals On Site) system, which involved maintenance optimizations
for data loading, searching (FAST), as well as many other features. The JOS system used Tomcat, FAST, Oracle
(9i-10g), Solaris, Linux, openLDAP, SOAP, C++ (INETD), XSL and was mostly Java.
