Technical Annex II for MoU Regarding the Harmonisation of a Charging Capability for Mobile
Phones European Commission 12 January 2010.
Technical standards for Mobile Phone external power supplies, i.e. chargers, for sale in Europe from mid -2011
onward. Having pioneered the problem discovery of common-mode power supply noise on capacitive touchscreens, and the
major solutions to it in both power supplies and in touch IC implementations, authored the portions of the standard covering
to common-mode noise output, which affects operability of capacitive touchscreen devices such as smartphones, tablets, and
media players. Those portions are on pages 2, 5-9 of the 11-page Part A. Taught these methods to multiple companies.

IEC 62684 ed1.0: Interoperability specifications of common external power supply (EPS) for use
with data-enabled mobile telephones International Electrotechnical Commission 27 January 2011.
A reformulation of the earlier European Commissions universal charger specs, IEC 62684:2011 specifies the
interoperability of common external power supplies for use with data enabled mobile telephones. It defines the common
charging capability and specifies interface requirements for the external power supply
