Experience:

Supervises or performs maintenance on engineering construction equipment including powered bridging
Equipment and power generation equipment.
Performs maintenance on gasoline, diesel, and electrically powered construction and associated
equipment; performs preventive maintenance including all servicing; isolates malfunctions by using
appropriate electric or hydraulic diagnostic equipment and technical publications; inspects, disassembles,
repairs, and reassembles carburetors, fuel systems, cooling systems, electrical systems, transmission
assemblies, and brake systems; reconditions and assembles clutches, steering clutches, final drives,
hydraulic systems, and crawler assemblies; removes and overhauls engines; uses hand tools, test
equipment, powered shop tools, and oxyacetylene and electrical welding equipment; reads maps
including topographic maps.

 Maintains and replaces brake actuators, batteries, starter motors, alternators, mechanical fuel pumps,
hydraulic cylinders/pumps/control valves, drive shafts, universal joints, service brake shoes, disc-brake
pads, water pumps, turbochargers, cylinder heads, high-pressure fuel injection pumps, wheel
bearings/seals, steering unit torque link and road wheels. Adjust engine speed governer/valves,
carburetors, boom-hoist brakes/clutches, dry-disc clutches, steering brakes, track tension/assemblies, fuel
injector racks and steering unit brake levers. Charges suspension accumulators, transmission shift
accumulators and main hydraulic accumulators. Supervises lower grade Soldiers and provides technical
guidance to the Soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Troubleshoot, repair and overhaul engines,
final drives, power trains, hydraulic systems, and fuel system components.
 Perform welding and cutting to accomplish repairs. Supervise and inspect maintenance of construction,
powered bridging and associated equipment. Perform troubleshooting of engines, power trains, fuel and
electrical systems, hydraulic systems, earth-moving components and pneumatic equipment. Diagnoses
malfunctions and performs and supervises corrective maintenance on diesel engines and power generating
units, including accessories, power trains, and chassis components of wheel vehicles; adjusts operating
mechanisms such as governors, control linkage, clutches, brakes, suspension, and steering; performs tune-
up; recommends appropriate power generating equipment to accommodate specific electrical loads;
operates wreckers.

Replaces engine components such as fuel pumps, generators, starters, voltage regulators, relays, radiators,
universal joints, brake shoes, engine mounts, and lines and fittings; adjusts operating mechanisms
including power generating unit; prepares maintenance forms and records. Provides supervision and
technical guidance to subordinates; conducts on-the-job training; completes maintenance forms and
records; troubleshoots to component level; isolates and identifies causes of malfunctions; uses electronic
scanners; interprets complex schematic diagrams. Plans and organizes work schedules; assigns duties;
performs operational and administrative duties; instructs and supervises subordinates in appropriate
practices, procedures, and safety.
