**Pay Rate: $21.19 hr.**
Title: Production Operator 2nd shift Position: Production operator
2nd shift: 2:00 pm-11:00 pm

Focus:
Lead a team of production employees to produce high quality animal feed. Production Lead Person will also operate the Dairy Mixer, Feederline, and Cracking systems.

Job Description:
The Production Lead Person is responsible for the overall teamwork of the assigned crew. Must be able to lead, direct, and guide less experienced employees in the accomplishment of their tasks. Monitors and demonstrates the safety program to ensure it is being followed by all team members. Must act as a role model for employees. The Production Lead Person will have a general understanding of all operations at the plant and assist employees to meet production goals. The Production Lead Person will cover breaks for employees at the packer and palletizer to avoid downtime. They will have a strong understanding of the Enterprise Quality Management System (EQMS) standards for all positions they provide coverage. The Production Lead Person will use the E1 ERP system and Production Line-up to plan orders by request date to meet customer demand and ensure all downstream operations are supported. The Production Lead Person will be responsible for managing the receiving order of railcars to keep storage bins full and release railcars in a timely manner to avoid demurrage.

In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Production Lead Person will operate the Dairy Mixer, Feederline, and Cracking systems. They will balance responsibilities to keep the Packer Operator sufficiently stocked with feed to pack and also produce bulk dispatch feeds for the Bulk Loader/Unloader Operator.

All Production Operators will comply with the site Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including housekeeping guidelines and complete all necessary paperwork, written and electronic.

Willing to learn Repete Automation System and operation of equipment
Willing to learn how to operate a power industrial truck in a safe manner
Accurately complete all daily documentations for site and regulatory requirements
Perform required job functions and duties sufficiently with minimal supervision and assist in troubleshooting
Able to work overtime when necessary
Assist other operators when needed
Ability to maintain workspace in a clean and organized manner
Other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor or Lead Person

Qualifications/Skills:
High school or GED education required; associates degree highly desired
3-5 years of mill experience or its equivalent
Must be able to lift at least 60 pounds from the floor to a height of 50 inches using safe lifting practices
Able to withstand heights such as tops of bins, legs, and other equipment
Proficient in basic computer skills
Must be able to perform simple math with calculator
