The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Department of Nursing is seeking a Clinical Resource Float Staff Nurse (RN) for the Medical Surgical Services (MSS) division.CRU Team 4 areas include the units: Transplant and General Surgery, Neurology, Orthopedics and Urology, General Medicine, Hematology/Oncology, Adult Bone Morrow Transplant, and Medical Psychiatry.

Percent of Time: 90%
Schedule:36 hours per week, 7:00pm-7:00am, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
(unit leadership open to set days of the week; discuss during interview)

Location:CRU Team 4 (Medical Surgical Services Division)

Rotations:Rotating holidays

Salary:$47,668.50 per year to commensurate *This does not include inpatient or shift differentials

Education Required

  • An Associate's Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required

Experience Required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required

  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions

  • General computer skills are required, including proficiency in managing multiple databases including Microsoft Excel

  • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is highly desired

  • If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is desirable

  • A minimum of 2 years of inpatient nursing experience, preferably within the last 5 years, is highly desired.
