What is a Material Handler?
The Material Handler balances production requirements against inventory levels, maintain inventory levels by performing cycle counts and generating parts requirements responsible for disposition of assigned commodities. The hours for this position is 7:00am-3:30pm.

What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have recent material handling experience in a manufacturing setting.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Balance production requirements against inventory levels and targets to maintain on-time deliveries and established lead times.
2. Maintain status reports on individual orders to update customer service department.
3. Track incoming shipments, lost or defective parts and work with vendors and accounting to resolve disputes and discrepancies.
4. Responsible for disposition and maintenance of assigned inventory commodities.
5. Follow up on orders, obtain certificates of delivery and audit order against receiving documents.
6. Develop and maintains necessary records and files.
7. Effectively perform material handling activities such as crating, packing, shipping, receiving, picking, lifting, moving and using materials handling equipment when necessary. (such as: lift trucks, tow motors, cranes, high lifts, etc.)
8. Utilize small and large tools, hoists, dollies, and other devices when necessary
9. Make recommendations to improve productivity, quality and efficiency of operations.
10. Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively.
11. Comply with policies, procedures, standards and rules of the Company.
12. Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
13. Punctual, regular and consistent attendance.
14. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Education
• High school diploma or equivalent. • Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English. • One year related manufacturing experience preferred. Previous experience in a material handling department preferred. • Ability to handle non-routine, standard projects and tasks under general supervision. • Thorough knowledge of Mapics, Symix, MasterShop or other operation/production scheduling software. • Ability to utilize advanced spreadsheet and analytical techniques. • Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred.




Physical and Technical Environment
• Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, using proper lifting techniques or other available resources such as lifting or moving equipment or help from another employee. • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office environment. • Normal vision and manual dexterity. • Exposure to noise, dust, heat and cold on a regular basis. • Separate exposure to machine and tool hazards requiring care and attention to safety rules and standards. • Overtime required at periodic intervals to respond to project deadlines.
