A rare opportunity has arisen within a well established manufacturing company in the Medway Towns for an Engineer, with electrical bias, due to their continued growth.
The successful candidate will have a "can do" and flexible attitude to join the team to achieve the growth plans.

You will be reporting to the Technical Manager, working in a busy manufacturing environment as part of a team providing engineering support to the Production Department.

In this role, you will be responsible for progressing routine preventative maintenance across a range of equipment, some of which may be outside of the electrical field of engineering and repairing and maintaining machinery and maintenance of electrical property, you will also look after the installation of plant and equipment and provide technical advice to management as required.

Other duties include identifying essential spares for stock and progressing of material requisitions, project work as appropriate, electrical Installations and any other duties as necessary to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the engineering team.

The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications or experience:
- City & Guilds qualification or equivalent in Electrical Maintenance & Installation.
- 18th Edition Electrical Installation.

You must also have knowledge of motor control, particularly thyristor drives, knowledge of and experience of working with programmable controls, experience of dealing with emergency lighting and be familiar with 3 phase - knowledge of general engineering would be advantageous.

Working hours will be 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 3.30pm on Fridays with an unpaid half hour break each day.

You will be expected to work a reasonable amount of overtime to support production, this is usually 1 to 2 hours each day Monday to Friday plus 4 hours on Saturday morning on alternate weeks
