I. Job Summary
The Data Integration Engineer is primarily responsible for maintaining our HL7 and flat file data feeds containing sensitive medical data from our clients. This includes the creation of new file feeds and interfaces, maintaining and troubleshooting of existing interfaces, and enhancing our data ingestion to include any new features needed. This role will also include data analytics work as well like assisting with data visualization, warehousing, and reporting efforts

III. Essential Job Functions
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain all inbound and outbound HL7 message and flat file interfaces that we have with our clients
- Implement changes and enhancements in our internal flat file and message processing services
- Communicate with our clients and their technical stakeholders via meetings, calls, and emails regarding our data integration
- Assist other team members of the organization with data related inquiries and issues as they arise
- Train other members of the organization (business analysts, key stakeholders) as necessary so that they are capable of using various data tools and communicating with other members of the data team
- Aid in the development and design of analytics projects as necessary like modifying reporting queries and creation of new data visualizations
- Create new data warehousing objects, views, procedures as needed to further streamline and enhance our reporting and visualization capabilities
- Discover opportunities for an organization to improve its systems, enterprises, and processes through the use of data analytics
- Maintain documentation related to datasets and analysis and ensuring that everyone on the data team uses the same language and definitions

Desired Education
Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Experience
Computer Science
Other Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong experience with SQL
Strong experience with Java
Some experience with BI tools, preferably Power BI
Some experience with cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWS
