SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT

Veritas are currently working with a Secondary school in Richmond. The school require a TEACHING ASSISTANT to work in class with SEN students. Having experience dealing with challenging behaviour and being proactive in your approach to these students is key. The school will consider candidates with support/HCA backgrounds that have a keen interest in supporting these young individuals. Manual handling and personal care training is ESSENTIAL as you will be required to support students that have physical disabilities.

The school is located close to a mainline train station and various local bus routes. There is parking available at this school.

This role starts iasap and will be contract with the agency for 1 term. The candidate will then be transferred to a fixed contract directly with the school until July 2021. There is potential for the contract to be extended in to the following academic year.

Key skills:
- Experience working with SEN children age 11-18 in either a school or care setting
- Professional, friendly approach
- Enthusiastic and resilient
- Experience managing challenging behaviour

Essential:
- wheelchair handling care experience
- Manual handling experience
- Experience using hoists
