Consultant Ecologist - Guildford

My client is a UK-based, independent environmental consultancy, that has a variety of specialist teams that advise clients across a range of sectors. Since they were founded in the early 2000s, they have grown to become a well-known name throughout the UK Ecology sector and are able to provide their services from 4 UK offices. They are currently looking for a well-rounded Ecological Consultant in Guildford, who would be interested in exploring a new opportunity.

To be successful in this role you should have:

A degree or postgraduate degree (or equivalent) in an ecological or related subject;
Relevant and proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a commercial consultancy;
Advanced field skills;
Ideally at least one protected species license;
In-depth knowledge of ecology, legislation, and survey techniques;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Be able to produce technical reports as well as communicate confidently with clients and stakeholders;
A full UK driving license and have use of a car;
Full membership of CIEEM (or to have eligibility if not currently held)

During your time at this role, you will gain an equal experience of working on-site and in an office environment. If you are successful in your application to this opportunity you will be mentoring and supervising junior staff, leading a field team of ecologists, helping to prepare tenders and quotes, undertaking ecological surveys and mitigation, and also producing high-quality reports for clients on time and to budget.

My client will be offering a competitive salary depending on your experience, as well as 5 weeks of annual leave per year (pro-rata). You will also receive private pension contributions, flexible working, regular social events (including a summer and Christmas party), discount gym membership, and a cycle to work scheme. My client also provides paid mileage, travel, and subsistence whilst away from home, the option to take extended periods of leave during quieter months, fantastic on-the-job training, and opportunities for career progression. f this role is of interest to you or you are looking for roles related to Ecology, please do not hesitate to contact Steffan Child on (phone number removed) for a confidential conversation, or by email (url removed).
