Client. is a vertically integrated OEM manufacturer of permanent magnet brushless DC motors and harsh environment drivers for the aerospace, defense, and medical industries. The company operates 7 facilities in in Brooksville, Florida, area.

 

Client is currently seeking a hands-on manufacturing engineer technician to work with the product development team. You will spend most of your day on the factory floor.

This role requires technical and mechanical skills. Primary responsibility will be to transition new products to production. This will include participation in proto-type builds, training operators and ensuring work-instruction are clear and concise. Provide input on design for manufacturing and quality requirements. Repair and maintain assembly equipment. Monitor, and check product quality and document results. Position requires a high degree of manual dexterity and problem-solving ability. The ability to operate factory machines, hand or power tools and use software to run computer-operated machinery. You will be working with a wide range of manufacturing technology like; automated manufacturing cells, complex tooling and fixturing, and industrial equipment.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead the transition of product development initiatives into production.
  • Participate in product development efforts to provide guidance on DFM practices.
  • Support existing product lines through continuous improvement efforts.
  • Research, specify, and implement Cap-Ex equipment.
  • Lead production pilot builds and create verification plans for new products.
  • Write and revise manufacturing process documentation like, work instructions, routers, SOP's, training & maintenance manuals, manufacturing, and test procedures.
  • Learn the manufacturing process in detail, troubleshooting and escalate to senior staff if/when they are not able to correct the problem.
  • Monitor and check the product quality identifying when the process is deviating from the norm and taking action to correct it.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste in the production process.
