Within the mining industry, lead business development efforts with the aim of diversifying and growing Company’s asset portfolio through acquisition and development of existing portfolio. Establish and implement investment transaction framework that guides management of the due diligence process. Oversee due diligence activities, negotiations, and the evaluation of new investment opportunities. Present to the Company’s Investment Committee on matters related to commercial strategies, deal flow, priorities, and current investment opportunities. Contribute to ongoing development and refinement of the corporate strategy. Identify and prioritize opportunities to accelerate Company’s strategy, including thorough tracking of public companies, cultivating relationships with relevant companies, experts, investment firms and government stakeholders. Recognize external commercial opportunities through engagement with industry peers, competitors, and investment banks. Raise Company’s commercial profile with external stakeholders to enhance the reputation. Engage with government and agencies in current and new jurisdictions to identify and position Company for new opportunities. Represent Company at external forums and keep abreast of policy and regulatory and policy developments relevant to Company’s business. Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders within industry and government in the Americas and other relevant jurisdictions of interest to Company. Position requires 15-30% domestic travel and travel to Canada. Position allows for occasional remote work and reports to the Lakewood, CO office.

Position requires Master’s degree in International Relations, Business, Finance, or related field. 8 years of post-Bachelor’s experience in the mining industry is required, which must include some experience in each of the following skills: Leading due diligence and commercial negotiation of cross-border mining transactions; Corporate governance and business development for publicly traded mining company; Overseeing commercial legal and risk management matters within mining industry; Working with royalties in base metals or precious metals within mining industry, including negotiation of royalty agreements; Applying Environmental, Social, and Governance (“ESG”) polices to mitigate material ESG risks; Accounting, taxation, and legal issues involved in the execution of corporate and asset transactions within mining industry. Position requires 15-30% domestic travel and travel to Canada.
