Senior External Reporting Analyst

Assists in directing company implementation of new accounting and reporting requirements.
Identify and initiate process improvement teams for functional productivity.
Develops and implements accounting policies and procedures to ensure external financial statements are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and internal management reports are consistent with established policies and procedures.
Analyzes and resolves complex accounting and reporting issues, including interpreting external technical accounting proposals and pronouncements.
Responsibilities:
Preparation and review of the Company’s Form 10-K, 10-Q, including footnotes and financial disclosures included in other sections of quarterly and annual reports
Examines financial statements and documents for conformance with US GAAP accounting requirements and principles
Assists in the preparation and review of additional SEC filings including, Form 8-Ks, 11-K, registration statements, and Proxy statement
Monitor the integrity of controls over the external reporting process through checklists, quarterly memorandums and other methods to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley 404
Maintain objective evidence for Sarbanes Oxley 404 compliance for external reporting controls
Develops, owns, and manages the SEC reporting processes and timelines
Point of contact throughout the Company for technical accounting and disclosure matters (SEC guidance, FASB Standards, etc.) such as pension accounting, acquisition and divestiture accounting, segment realignments, and other matters
Develops new disclosures for transactions and purchase accounting
Coordinate audit requests with external auditors, internal auditors and compliance
Work cross-functionally with other departments including Consolidations, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Business Finance, Investor Relations and Internal Audit
Develop relationships and work closely with external auditors, business leaders and senior management to ensure communication of critical accounting and reporting issues in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
BS Accounting/Finance (MBA a plus)
CPA required
Thorough understanding of US GAAP and SEC Reporting
5+ years of experience gained in a top tier public accounting firm or industry related experience in an SEC external reporting role
Strong oral and written skills
Solid technical accounting knowledge
Self-directed and accountable
Strong analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks
Works well in teams with an ability to interact at all levels of the organization
Familiarity with BPC, SAP and Workiva advantageous
