DevOps Engineer Permanent/ Direct Hire Location - Overland Park, KS It's an onsite opportunity Description: The Managed Services team is responsible for providing post-sales support to the client's internal environment, tenants, and Managed Services business customers who have managed services contracts/agreements. Services range from managing hardware to fully managed solutions encompassing any or all of the following technologies: physical and virtual backup systems management, Cloud-hosted solutions, server architecture, VMware, Citrix VDI, Nutanix, etc. The DevOps Engineer will support and lead the DevOps practice. This person is responsible for automating tasks within the managed services team. The DevOps engineer will be expected to identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiencies and streamline processes. This is an on-site position in the Overland Park, KS office. Hybrid work is available following training, but employee must reside within the Kansas City metropolitan area. Technical Responsibilities: - Evaluate build and deployment procedures to optimize, streamline and automate
- Create and maintain DevOps technical documentation
- Study and understand all current and upcoming system requirements, including fine-level details; communicate this information effectively to team members
- Help identify, escalate, and resolve problems (as defined in ITIL Problem Management)
- Maintain and repair existing applications
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines deploy, configure, and automate releases
- Create and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) and use configuration managed tools in a cloud environment such as Azure
- Write scripts using Nodejs, PowerShell, or Python and shell script
- Maintain and upgrade all cloud platforms including EC2, Azure, Citrix Cloud, load balancer, etc.
- Mitigate all vulnerabilities identified in penetration testing
- Participate in client communications related to IT infrastructure
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements: - Minimum of five years of experience with DevOps, specifically dev tooling for automated build and deployments to various environments
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, including Git hooks
- Strong knowledge of configuration management and automation tools (Bamboo, Azure DevOps, AWS DevOps, etc.)
- Experience and familiarity with cloud architecture, such as Azure
- In-depth knowledge of source control management systems, including all major Git variations
- Familiarity with defect tracking systems, such as Jira
- Understanding, experience and knowledge of automated testing and testing frameworks such as JUnit, Jasmine, and others
- Experience using PowerShell scripting preferred
- Familiarity with containers such as Docker and container orchestration such as Kubernetes a plus
- Knowledge of .NET component deployment process required
- Experience with Node.js
- Proven ability to create and maintain documentation
- Enterprise level experience with strong focus around process and procedure
- Intermediate virtual and/or cloud experience with Azure, VMware, Nutanix a plus
- Solid networking knowledge
- Must possess strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task, handle multiple projects and assign appropriate prioritization of tasks Managed Services Requirements & Expectations:
- Will be available via Slack, email, and phone to provide timely answers to team members, vendors, and customers
- Must report to the headquarters located in Overland Park, KS during the assigned shift
- Perform after-hours duties on an on-call rotation and as-needed basis
- Assist the team where needed by actively working on customer issues, handling calls, assisting other team members in issue resolutions, etc.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the team by sharing knowledge, experience, and expertise with other team members.
- Interact with the service delivery team, professional services engineers, and account managers to provide our customers with the best experience
- Must directly interact with various customers
- Ability to work within a team, both in-person and through virtual media outlets
- Capable of managing own workload with minimal supervision to meet tight deadlines
- Detail-oriented and process driven to see tickets through to resolution and/or escalation
