Please Note: This position is 100% remote, however you must reside within driving distance of our offices in Costa Mesa CA or Coppell, TX to attend meetings and team collaboration.
What You Will Do:
This candidate will be working with the Data Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and Data Scientists to focus on applying data modeling, data architecture, solution architecture and data engineering approaches to solve business problems, recommend improvements, develop new strategies, enforce standards/best practices, and implement on the ACE Enterprise Data Strategy.
The Sr Technical Lead is a member of the leadership team in the Data & Analytics department. This candidate would lead several projects from inception to completion within their area of expertise. The lead effectively communicates with Business and IT partners to plan and achieve project initiatives. The lead should be committed to managing projects, creating data models according to timelines and scope. The lead should understand complex business problems and ensure projects are leveraging the appropriate technology and analytical tools in the delivery of comprehensive solution.
The Sr lead should understand the changing business needs of the organization/projects and recommend viable strategies for the future. The lead should create, and review architecture / design and other technical documents ensure high quality deliverables and systems development across tech stacks and application teams.
What Gets You The Job:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (math, statistics, computer science) with Master’s degree preferred
• 7+ years of experience in a traditional data management and analytics corporate environment or an architect role
• Highly Proficient in Advanced SQL
• Experience with Data modeling, data architecture and business logic
• Architecture experience building end-to-end production-ready data pipelines on Cloud Data & Analytics platforms like AWS, GCP, Databricks or Snowflake (or) Big Data platforms (Hadoop – Sqoop, Hue, Impala, Hive, Hbase)
• R, Python, Java, Spark experience (expertise in at least 1)
• Knowledge of Hadoop, Distributed Systems, Big Data ecosystem and Cloud data Platforms
• Experience with Unix/Linux required
• Able to rapidly learn new processes/subject areas
• Conduct and advise on data product/platform reviews and evaluations, identify gaps and offer recommendations
• Understand the changing business needs of the organization/projects and recommend viable strategies for the future
• Innovative mindset with demonstrated creativity or innovation in some past work experience preferred
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, whether in a formal or informal role
• Ability to work in cross-functional/departmental groups
• Mentor and assist engineers in their respective functions and responsibilities.
• Should be able to communicate clearly to non-technical business owner
