Position: Lead Data Scientist

Location: Linthicum Heights, MD

  • Programming skills in languages like SAS, R and Python

  • Work closely with product teams to implement algorithms with R and/or Python

  • Leads prototyping (what ifs) supporting pilot programs for R&D purposes

  • Breadth of knowledge across statistical methods and machine learning algorithms

  • Familiarity with large scale data processing tools like Hadoop and Spark

  • Design and implement able to scale predictive models, classifiers leveraging machine learning, data regression

  • Works on a portfolio of projects

  • Perform research and analysis on large data solutions

  • Collaborating with executive leaders and business owners, the Data Scientist will be leading teammates to solve business problems using broad spectrum of data science tools, packages and visualization techniques

  • Conceive, plan, and prioritize data projects in alignment with organizational goals.

  • Translate unstructured problems into well-defined machine learning projects or research.

  • Design and implement data-driven models to predict outcomes.

  • Develop, build, test, and validate algorithms and models.

  • Work with large data sets to solve complicated data analysis problems using statistical and machine learning approaches.

  • Build mathematical models from various data types capable of providing insights, to create and improve the product.

  • Test with new models, methods & techniques for a better outcome.

  • Standardize algorithms and methods used within the business unit.

  • Create and maintain standard software libraries, as well as the documentation that goes with them.

  • Provide resources and training to ensure that procedures and outputs are of high quality.

  • Establish, maintain, and manage the program schedule, reflecting WBS, dependencies, key milestones, critical path, risk mitigation, evolving challenges, and customer needs

  • Prepare, submit, negotiate, and incorporate scope change orders 

  • Identify, categorize, and proactively manage program risks using a structured approach

  • Lead the PMM technical delivery work
