SQL Database Administration - DB2 LUX in x/OS Environment

Hybrid 2 days remote/3 days onsite

Open to a MID to SENIOR SQL Microsoft DBA. Looking for a Microsoft SQL DBA OR a developer with relational database experience who is interested in DBA would be considered. Support DB2 in zOS also support PostGreSQL and Maria DB will learn any experience would be a plus large enterprise experience VLDB

Ideal candidate would have some experience as a DBA with Microsoft SQL Server. A developer with relational database experience who is interested in DBA would be considered. Experience with related Scripting languages preferred (powershell, Korn Shell)

We support DB2 on z/OS and on Linux, we also support PostgreSQL and MariaDB.

The individual we choose would start out with SQL Server and quickly move to also support PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the design, implementation, and maintaining databases
• Provides consultation support in database analysis, modelling, coding and production problem resolution
• Maintains metadata repositories
• Provides support in database access methods, device allocations and organization
• Develops maintenance, backup and recovery procedures and documentation
• Manages database performance and disk usage
• Participates in Disaster Recovery drills
• Provides Primary On-Call Support for production problems
• Understands and supports corporate data standards

Qualifications & Experience

• 1+ years' experience developing and maintaining complex applications that make extensive use of a supported database technology or 2+ years' experience as an associate DBA
• Well versed in all phases of Systems Analysis and Design
• Experienced in two or more programming languages and two or more Scripting languages
• Practiced at Entity/Relationship or Object modelling and translation to physical database designs
• Proficient in DML, DDL, and database utilities for at least two DBMS technologies
• Proficient in all access methods of a DBMS as well as the underlying operating system access methods
• Knowledge of hardware and operating system capabilities within one environment
• Understanding of all software subsystems (DBMS, TP Managers, etc.) for one environment
• Accepts ownership in assignments, team, and company and takes initiative outside immediate area of responsibility
• 1+ years' experience with DB2 in a z/OS environment
• 1+ years' experience with DB2 LUW, preferably on Solaris
• 1+ years' experience with SQL Server
• Experience with Embarcadero/similar tools (E/R Studio, DBArtisan, and Schema Manager)
• Experience with BMC tools for DB2 (Change/Catalog Manager, MainView, Log Master)
• Proficient with coding and review of SQL, stored procedures, and triggers
• Bachelor's Degree
