Island Health provides a nurturing work environment for its exceptional staff of caring professionals. Looking for an ACUTE CARE RN for a 13 week travel contract. WA license required. BLS, NRP required. Island Health is a 43-bed rural hospital, our extensive range of services is nothing short of remarkable. The Registered Nurse for Acute Care is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Registered Nurse is accountable for the administration of, observation, charting and reporting effects of medications, intravenous procedures, and other therapeutic and diagnostic measures in a safe and accurate manner while operating within established policies, procedures and regulations. The Registered Nurse is an integral member of the patient care team and is expected to be a resource person regarding patient care, specialty area of nursing and development of other staff. Call of/Flexing: There will be up to 36 hours of flexing or call off available to the facility during the course of the assignment. Additional open shifts can be scheduled by request of the traveler. Floating: When needed, the traveler will float to any areas of the facility where skills can be utilized prior to flex off. Unit orientation and just in time training will be offered prior to the first assignment. Guarantee of Hours: Guarantee of hours will only apply when traveler is willing and able to work guaranteed shifts. The guarantee does not apply if the traveler is sick or unwilling to work their shifts, or requests to be off work. Facility Schedule: Monday Sunday
