Sr. Data Engineer
>
> Location: South SFO, CA (Hybrid Onsite role)
>
> Duration: 6+ Months
>
> Responsibilities
>
> Work within the organization to understand needs, goals,
> and objectives.
>
> Develop secure, scalable, high-performance and reliable
> data engineering and analytics solutions in a cloud platform such as
> AWS or Snowflake.
>
> Solve challenging data integration problems for complicated
> and diverse data sets, utilizing and coding optimal ETL patterns,
> frameworks, query techniques, and sourcing / merging from structured
> and unstructured data sources.
>
> Design and develop data pipelines and cloud infrastructure
> components to support machine learning systems at scale.
>
> Apply software engineering best practices to data
> engineering such as source code versioning, CI/CD and automated
> testing.
>
> Attend and participate in meetings with stakeholders, data
> owners and project team members in order to gather requirements,
> provide expertise and resolve issues in the context of a data
> solutions project.
>
> Collaborate with business owners, data engineers, data
> scientists and IT service owners in a global shared services
> environment.
>
> Qualifications
>
> Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer
> Engineering, Information Systems, or related field with additional
> experience
>
> 4 - 6 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Software
> Engineer or in a similar role.
>
> Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas, Numpy, PySpark)
>
> Highly experienced in developing using AWS cloud services,
> such as, but not limited to, S3, Redshift, Athena, Glue, Lambda, MWAA,
> DynamoDB, etc.
>
> Experience with GitHub or GitLab.
>
> Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and
> building data pipelines
>
> Ability to translate business needs to technical
> requirements.
>
> Ability to plan, problem solve, and communicate precisely
> and thoroughly.
>
> Preferred Qualifications
>
> Masters degree in Information Systems, Computer Science,
> Computer Engineering, or related field and additional experience
>
> Strong software/data engineering skills in complex,
> multi-language systems
>
> Experience developing and maintaining systems using open
> source software
>
> Knowledge and experience in analytics, data science,
> machine learning and/or NLP.
