CERTIFIED NURSE ASSISTANT
MEDICAL SURGICAL / SWING BED DEPARTMENTSPRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:- Assists license staff in general care and well being of patients including activities of daily living- Assists in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients by preparing nursing units, preparing documents, moving patients, and storing patient valuables- Performs and records basic patient assessments within scope of practice including vital signs, height, weight, intake/output, and other measurements as assigned- Manually provides general care for patients including bathing and feeding, answering patient requests, transfers and patient positioning/relocation as defined in Policy- Assists the Activity Coordinator upon request- Actively involved in departments Performance Improvement Plan- Activity engages in ensuring patient satisfaction- Represents the hospital in a respectful, professional manner at all times- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:- High school diploma or equivalent- Completion of Certified Nurse Assistant program- Current California CNA certification- Current BLS certification- Completion of Safety Attendant orientation upon hire- Working knowledge of the use and applications of computers- Medical Terminology course completion Highly Desirable- Electrocardiography Technician Certification Highly Desirable- Capable of performing position related physical requirements
REPORTS TO: Nurse Manager; receives work assignments from designated RN.
Shift: 12 hr day shift, ability to be placed on call 3 times during 13 week contract if low census
