OverviewOur client is seeking a Senior Structural Project Engineer that specializes in bridge design. The ideal candidate will have experience structural analysis, preparing bridge plans and performing bridge inspections. NBIS Certification and performing load ratings is a plus. Experience specific to transportation (IDOT, CDOT and the Tollway) is required. This position requires candidates to have excellent structural analysis skills to design innovative and technically sound solutions in accordance to project requirements and application codes. The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the planning, control, and integration of engineering activities and the development of project deliverables to insure the success of their project. We are looking for a strong technical leader.RequirementsBachelors Degree (Masters preferred) in Structural EngineeringLicensed Structural Engineer (SE) or Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)6+ years of successful project experience within a consulting engineering firmExpertise in bridge design principlesAwareness of other disciplines and the interrelationship of the various elements of designStrong analytical skills; knowledge of analysis methodsExperience in dealing with clients, contractors and vendorsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsSuccessful experience supporting multiple projectsKnowledge of Illinois Department of Transportation design standards, procedures and specifications is preferred.
