As a Mainframe Engineer, you will provide leadership and technical guidance for complex projects ensuring a reliable operation of the production environment. You will have ownership of all monitoring, troubleshooting, and installation of software/tools within a highly available environment utilizing multiple LPARs. Responsibilities will include the planning and coordination of enterprise-wide IT infrastructure projects. Job qualifications: - Strong understanding of z/OS and major sub-systems such as JES2, TCP/IP, RRS, & USS
- Provide engineering and lead support of a multi-LPAR SYSPLEX environment
- Strong troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and application teams coordination
- Strong knowledge of JCL, TSO, ISPF, & SDSF
- Strong knowledge of System initialization and tuning: PARMLIB
- Strong knowledge in SMP/E
- Good knowledge and understanding of Disaster Recovery
- Experience installing products from a wide range of vendors such as IBM, Broadcom, ASG, and BMC
- Experience using IBM Utilities, Batch Jobs, Procs
- Plan hardware and software system upgrades and changes
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Optional qualifications: - Understanding of ACF2
- Dell/EMC disk storage systems
- Dell/EMC disaster recovery SRDF across multiple data centers
What it takes: - A bachelors degree in information technology or equivalent experience
- z/OS (SYSPLEX) installation and administration
- Ability to quickly identify and resolve system problems
- z/OS performance monitoring, reporting and tuning
- z/OS Networking (TCPIP, VTAM)
- CA Operations products
- Ability to engage and work with the proper technical areas and vendors
- Ability to think analytically, work independently and make decisions objectively
- Knowledge of mainframe DASD administration is preferred
- Experience with z/OS Automation/Scheduling
