MPF Federal is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support our Ambulatory Care Center in Carlisle, PA.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Possess a working knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, common drugs, medication dosage forms, storage and security requirements for drugs, and the operation of common pharmacy equipment.
  • Extensive knowledge of pharmaceuticals to include therapeutics, dosage, nomenclature, side effects, interactions and incompatibilities. Must be intimately familiar with all aspects of the Outpatient and Inpatient Drug Distribution System.
  • Receive and interpret outpatient prescriptions or inpatient medication orders. Assist pharmacist in selecting and preparing medications.
  • Maintain necessary prescription files and other records in accordance with applicable regulations and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain thorough familiarity with MTF therapeutic formulary, dispensing policies, and requirements for eligibility for care.
  • Shall be accountable for all controlled substances dispensed to the single tablet, capsule or similar unit.
  • Provide drug information to other health care professionals and patients when requested.
  • Display a helpful, courteous manner to patients, explaining options, and recommending solutions based on facts.
  • Utilize the Composite Health Care System (CHCS). The Government will provide training in the use of this system and any other Automated Dispensable System (ADP) system implemented by the US Army.
  • Complete all required paperwork, utilize paraprofessionals as appropriate and perform documentation and patient care in accordance with JC guidelines.
  • Assume additional administrative or clinical duties as requested or needed to ensure sustainment of normal clinic operations and ensure compliance with Joint Commission (JC) standards, to include, but not limited to, performing clinic and ward inspections, monitoring clinic supplies and equipment, ensuring enforcement of clinic Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and standards, conducting monthly peer review and attending staff meetings.
  • Knowledgeable of Quality Improvement responsibilities which include upholding established patient care and practice standards, review and submit reports a required, participate in all mandatory training.

  • Monday Friday | 7:30am 4:30pm
  • Parking Pass provided

Requirements

  • Shall possess and maintain current certification for Pharmacy Technician in at least on state or territory in the United States, certification (with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions) to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in accordance with (IAW) the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
  • Shall have a minimum equivalent of 16 hours per week work experience as a Pharmacy Technician within the last year.
  • Shall be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers.
  • Shall have transcript verifying Pharmacy Technician education
  • Shall demonstrate ability in the areas of interpersonal relations, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
  • Shall report to work rested, physically and mentally capable of performing the duties required under this contract.
  • Shall possess Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification provided by the American Heart Association (AHA) that shall be maintained in a current status at all times
  • Must undergo a drug test prior to employment and random drug testing during the life of the contract
  • Must be willing to receive a physical examination
