Hudson Veterinary Hospital is a full-service veterinary hospital providing compassionate care to pets in the Ossining area. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Practice Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the hospital and ensuring that our clients and their pets receive exceptional care.

Staff Engagement & Employee Management:

  • Recruit, train, and lead hospital staff, including veterinarians, technicians, receptionists, and support staff.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging staff engagement and promoting teamwork.
  • Create and implement employee development programs, including training, performance reviews, and career development plans.
  • Ensure that all staff members are up-to-date with industry best practices, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
  • Implement and enforce hospital policies and procedures, including employee behavior, scheduling, and overtime management.
  • Manage employee benefits, including health insurance, vacation time, sick time, and retirement plans.

Medical Excellence:

  • Ensure that the hospital is providing the highest level of medical care to all patients, with an emphasis on quality and safety.
  • Partner with the Medical Director to oversee the medical team, including veterinarians and technicians, to ensure that they are providing exceptional medical care and adhering to best practices and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement medical protocols, including disease management and prevention, anesthesia protocols, and surgical procedures.
  • Ensure that the hospital is maintaining accurate and complete medical records for all patients.

Customer Satisfaction:

  • Ensure that all clients receive exceptional customer service and have a positive experience when visiting the hospital.
  • Work with the reception team to manage appointment scheduling, client communication, and billing processes.
  • Handle client complaints and concerns, and work to resolve any issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and community partners, including rescue organizations, local businesses, and referral veterinarians.

Business and Financial Operations:

  • Develop and manage the hospital's budget, ensuring that all expenses are within the approved budgetary guidelines.
  • Implement financial policies and procedures, including billing, collections, and payment processes.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and work with the hospital owner to develop and implement financial plans.
  • Manage inventory and supply chain processes, ensuring that the hospital is well-stocked with necessary medical supplies and equipment.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the hospital and increase revenue.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and new veterinary practices, and implement new strategies and technologies to improve the hospital's services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, veterinary technology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in veterinary management or a related field strongly preferred, with a proven track record of success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of employees.
  • Strong financial management skills, with the ability to develop and manage budgets and financial plans.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of veterinary practice management software and medical record-keeping systems.
  • Understanding of veterinary medicine and healthcare practices.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Benefits

Compensation of $50,000 - $73,000 available DOE
