Job Title:- QA Engineer ( "Metrology Engineer" )

Location:- Normal, Illinois

  • Hybrid Remote (3-4 days per week onsite in Normal, Illinois (zip code 61761)(Can drive in from bigger city 1 + hours away, if needed) (or candidates can relocate anywhere up to 1 hour away from Normal, IL and be ready for the 1st week of work)

    Candidates MUST come from automotive industry or electric vehicle or semiconductor

    • Familiarity with CMM/Gear Measurement Machine, laser scan, CT scan and other gaging devices
    • Ability to read and understand blueprints and GD&T
    • Experience Supporting tracking and delivery of key KPI's to achieve quality targets and goals
    • Comfortable working in a manufacturing / production environment
    • Basic CAD knowledge

    Role Description:

    Responsibilities:

    The actual title of this position is "Metrology Engineer"

    THIS IS WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    Manage and support Metrology project for quality of electric drive unit and related Powertrain Electrification products

    Develop CMM programs using Calypso and perform inspections on Powertrain components and assemblies(link removed)

    Support tracking and delivery of key KPI's to achieve quality targets and goals

    Work with engineering, manufacturing, and the supply base to ensure requirements flow through

    Support prototypes build Metrology data collection and management.

    Collaborate with other members of the engineering staff to support both project and internal R&D efforts

    THIS IS WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

    BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience

    Minimum of 2 years engineering and/or quality experience including:

    o Ability to read and understand Blueprints

    o Knowledge of functionality and GD&T for system level and component level of an assembly

    Basic CAD knowledge, including ability to review designs within any CAD software(link removed)

    Familiarity with CMM/Gear Measurement Machine, laser scan, CT scan and other gaging devices

    Demonstrated quality improvements through use of structured problem solving

    Experience working in a cross functional environment

    Ability to collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers

    Comfortable working in a manufacturing / production environment
