Product Process Engineer I Location: US-CA-Brea Email this job to a friend

The Product Process Engineer (PPE) I applies technical expertise to the performance, production and repair of electronic and mechanical products and related components. The PPE I primarily supports Operations, the PPE team, the production floor and external customers with a focus on quality, Rolled Throughput Yield, cost reduction, standardization, reliability, and product readiness for Production and Repair. Duties and Responsibilities: - Apply high quality, manufacturability methodology to the New Product Introduction process and the entire product life cycle
- Serve with a Senior PPE or PPE II as a technical contact with internal and external customers, Operations (Manufacturing and Supplier Management), Repairs, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Product Support and Suppliers
- Operate with a Senior PPE or PPE II as a Product Owner for multiple products. This will include leadership and support from product development to end of life of the product.
- Prepare manufacturing/production plan for new designs, as well as for existing design
- Comply with ISO 9001, AS9001, & EASA and FAA requirements
- Develop technical expertise and a regulatory and quality understanding of electronics, mechanical components and assemblies with an emphasis on a repeatable, quality driven production process
- Troubleshoot electronic boards/assemblies and electromechanical components that fail functional tests. Assist in identifying root causes and documenting corrective actions to ensure the problem is contained, corrected and action is implemented to prevent recurrence
- Advise Management on issues and provide recommended solution
- Represent the company during onsite/offsite customer meetings and advise management of meeting outcome and any actions required
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements - Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in a related field
- 0-3 years of experience working in a similar role
- Strong ability to use Microsoft Office programs
- Previous experience with MRP/ERP systems and PLM Systems
- Prior experience in the manufacture of electronic and mechanical components, particularly for Aerospace application
- Experience with utilizing and/or coordinating with domestic or overseas vendor services
- CAD/CAM (Solidworks) experience
- Knowledge of Lean and JIT concepts (Kaizen, Six Sigma, 8-D, DMAIC, PDCA, etc)
- Solid troubleshooting skills
Benefits The starting pay range for this position is $74,000 to 98,000 per year however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
