Job Description
Job Title: Supply Chain Manager FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Operations Reports To: Director of Manufacturing
Position Summary:
Under the directions of the Director of Operations, the Supply Chain Manager manages inventory, purchasing, production plan, shipping, customer service, and receiving/stockroom activities, supporting production objectives at minimum cost and consistent with company quality standards and customer requirements.
Job Description:
Creates and maintains the master schedule and plans that allocate available resources to best serve client or customer needs.
Integrates sales orders with master schedule; coordinates availability of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and staff as needed to meet delivery dates.
Aligns customer service activities and initiatives to support and enhance the objectives of the organization.
Oversees the receiving, shipping, stockrooms and transporting of material within the company and between the company and suppliers/customers at the least cost that meets production and customer objectives
Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies located in the company, at sites, and in the factory.
Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
Plans, manages, and coordinates all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies needed to meet the changing levels of product demand.
Leads the supply chain team in establishing performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
Develops processes and systems to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.
Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
Negotiates prices for materials and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies; ensures accurate and timely delivery of orders.
Essential skills and experience:
5-7 previous years experience as a supply chain manager or in a similar field
Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or similar field
Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes
Strong communication skills
Excellent organizational and project management skills
