Our rapidly scaling NYC-based manufacturer (AND YES.. We actually have large-scale manufacturing space in the heart of NYC) and are aggressively expanding production capacity in the non-woven fabrics arena. To uphold exceptional quality standards across a 5x increase in meltblown and spunbound converted products, we seek an experienced QA Manager to architect a testing lab, clean area, and implement ironclad inspection protocols.

In this pivotal role, you will lead the quality charge conducting in-depth evaluations of incoming textile inputs, designing Six Sigma-level test plans, and training inspection staff.. If you have an advanced QA background, with expertise across textile/non-woven testing equipment and methodologies, this is a prime opportunity to make your impact.

Success ensures our exponential production volume ramp meets and exceeds crucial FDA, EPA and ISO quality metrics. You will be the proponent of quality, building an impenetrable framework to catch the slightest deviation. After successful startup and stabilization, consideration for a hybrid/remote schedule will be implemented.


  • Construct on-site testing lab with equipment for evaluating tensile strength, abrasion resistance, air permeability of meltblown and spunbond fabrics
  • Introduce testing protocols focused on validation of critical product attributes like bacterial filtration efficiency, particle filtration efficiency, differential pressure
  • Perform capability and control chart analysis to optimize manufacturing processes
  • Conduct SEM, FTIR and DSC analysis to ensure raw material consistency
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to optimize manufacturing processes - utilize techniques like Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify areas for enhancing yield, reducing cycle times, minimizing waste
  • Manage customer complaints and returns to closure - conduct failure analysis on defective units, determine root cause, recommend corrective actions
  • Introduce and manage a supplier quality program - create standards for vendor qualification, conduct risk-based assessments and audits, monitor key performance metrics
  • Drive sustainability initiatives by analyzing environmental impact of operations and introducing solutions to improve energy, water usage, recycling
  • Maintain regulatory compliance across the site - track changes to local and federal laws, update procedures and documentation as needed
  • Lead change control process and manage ECN/ECOs - conduct safety, efficacy reviews and risk analysis on proposed changes to equipment, test methods, components
  • Develop training requirements and conduct sessions for production personnel on quality protocols


  • 7-10+ years in advanced manufacturing quality assurance
  • Expertise in textile/non-woven testing equipment and methodologies
  • Experience with Meltblown & Spunbound polypropylene fabrics
  • Working knowledge of GMP regulations and ISO9001 & 13485 standards compliance
  • Proven experience executing bacterial/viral filtration tests per ASTM F2100
  • Exposure to Six Sigma, Design of Experiments, process optimization techniques
  • Leadership qualities - able to collaborate cross-functionally, coach teams, communicate clearly
  • Sharp process orientation with drive for consistency and attention to detail
  • Strong technical rigor paired with creative problem-solving and solution design acumen


Competitive Compensation: Salary range $120 - $180k based on experience.
