The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to help patients recover from injuries and illnesses, regain movement and manage pain. PTAs assist in implementing treatment plans, perform therapeutic exercises, and educate patients on proper techniques for rehabilitation. They work in various healthcare settings such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, clinics, and private practices.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Physical Therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients.
- Guide patients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities.
- Apply modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises and home care techniques..
