Leading Building Trades Contractor has an immediate need for a Controller with excellent communication skills. Company has been in business for 20+ years and is continuing to grow aggressively. You will be responsible for overseeing a staff of 3, however; we definitely need someone that is hands on and enjoys digging into financials.

This is a huge growth opportunity for someone that is looking to take over a small Accounting Department and help put their stamp on a growing company. In addition to traditional accounting responsibilities, you also will help navigate the company to a new accounting software system within the next year. Experience with one or more of the following software systems is a plus: Procore, Accounting Seed, Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Preferably we are looking for someone with a Bachelor’s Degree or MBA in Accounting (Finance Majors will be considered as well) and 5++ years of experience managing top line financials for a small-mid sized construction or mechanical/electrical services company (Construction, HVAC, Electrical, Electronic Security, Fire Protection). Strong cost accounting experience is a must. CPA also a plus but not required.

Position will be responsible for managing top-level financials, job costing, managing general ledger, recommending process improvements, recommending operational improvements, overseeing compliance requirements, overseeing AP/AR and running and analyzing monthly financial statements; including cash flow, P&L, trial balance, income statements, and balance sheets.
