Job Description

****DRIVING VEHICLE*****

Position Summary:

This is administrative work in customer service and dispatching to include verifying condition of the material leaving the plant to ensure environmental compliance associated with the processing, marketing, beneficial reuse, application/installation and disposal of byproducts. Process requisitions for purchase orders, review, verify and process invoices and check requests for payment, manage customer relationships by answering inquiries, processing orders and communicating with all levels within the organization. Arrange for transportation of material from the site in order to meet production goals (dispatching).

EXAMPLES OF WORK:

  • Operates and maintains two truck scales, one railroad scale and the associated software.
  • Utilizes various computer databases, such as the billing system to review customer account information and prepares required reports (ILS System, Mettler-Toledo & CSX).
  • Performs support functions for field personnel including routing, contact information and delivery verification.
  • Communicates with customers to ensure proper delivery and scheduling.
  • Maintains daily logs to track inbound and outbound loads.
  • Manages assigned purchase orders including receipt of invoices, change orders and funds balance.
  • Ensures project numbers and tasks are created properly and assigned correctly to purchase orders.
  • Reviews paperwork to ensure that all necessary records are complete and included such as quotes, purchase agreements and environmentally required documentation.
  • Maintains vendor files including PO status, tax information and customer information.
  • Collects field samples and chemical data to comply with permits or regulatory requirements.
  • Utilizes an ILS Scale System and reviews paperwork to monitor transportation carriers, ensuring compliance with laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Florida Department of Transportation.
  • Solicits quotes for purchase of special equipment, parts and tools as determined by management.
  • Performs other job-related work as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of:

  • General office practices, procedures and methods.
  • Procedures, functions and specialized terminology of the unit to which assigned.
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and ILS Scale System.
  • Department of Transportation Regulations.
  • Safety practices.

Skill in:

  • Making and verifying mathematical and statistical calculations.
  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications, including those unique to functional area.
  • Establishing and maintaining information, record, document and file systems (electronic and manual).

Ability to:

  • Prepare reports from general information
  • Identify and suggest solutions to routine or recurring problems.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Organize and track data using Excel.
  • Read, write, and speak English (Bi-Lingual in Spanish is a plus but NOT required)
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Grasp new ideas and learn new skills and technologies
  • Gather information from customers, internal and/or external, applicants and the general public.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

OPEN REQUIREMENTS:

One (1) year experience is suitable in clerical and/or customer service and/or dispatching areas.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:

A valid driver's license is required prior to employment and must be maintained during employment in this classification.

May be required to complete provided training to obtain TREEO Landfill Operators Certification.
