Role Overview
The System Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level infrastructure solutions across Linux environments. This role demands expertise in networking, IT security, and troubleshooting, along with proficiency in database management and scripting. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, secure, and scalable systems, supporting critical business operations in a global financial environment.

Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management
o Physical & Virtual Servers Management.
o Administer and optimize Linux servers for high availability and performance.
o Implement security best practices across enterprise systems, including IoT environments.
o Provide support on existing IoT systems, manage upgrades and troubleshoot problems.
o Manage and maintain SQL Server and Sybase databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
o Develop scripts using Perl/Python/PowerShell for automation and system monitoring.

Application Management on the Servers
o Configure and maintain applications and services hosting applications.
o Perform packaging and deployment, updates, patching, and upgrades.
o Monitor application performance and proactively troubleshoot issues.
o Stay well versed with End-to-end request flow with network integration.
o Manage user accounts, permissions, and enforce security policies

Troubleshooting & Analysis
o Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across infrastructure and applications.

Networking & Security
o Awareness on IP, DNS, DHCP, Ports, Authentications, Authorisations & Privileges.
o Awareness on Router, Switches & Firewall operations.
o Understanding of network segmentation.

IoT Systems: Siemens BMS, DemandFlow + WinPM, FM Systems, HatchData, Lutron, PointGrab, Monnit, Kaiterra, Enlighted & ThinkLite.
Databases: Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase
