Position Overview



A long-standing, family-owned Iowa equipment provider is seeking an experienced Service Technician
to join the team at its Waterloo location. Operating since 1968, the company has expanded to multiple
locations across the state and services a wide range of construction equipment.



This position primarily focuses on small-engine equipment such as generators, concrete saws,
power buggies, water pumps, plate compactors, light towers, mixers, and similar machinery.



Key Responsibilities



  • Perform assigned maintenance and repair tasks with minimal supervision and within established timeframes.

  • Follow all safety procedures and actively promote a safe work environment.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools, test equipment, and service documentation.

  • Reference service manuals, parts catalogs, and technical bulletins to complete repairs accurately.

  • Continuously improve technical knowledge related to construction and small-engine equipment.

  • Maintain accurate personal and company documentation, including logs and timesheets.

  • Plan and execute work efficiently with strong attention to detail.

  • Assist with checking or reviewing the work of junior or lower-level mechanics when needed.

  • Supply and maintain required personal hand tools to perform job duties.



Qualifications



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction equipment or small-engine mechanical repair.

  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair construction-related equipment.

  • Ability to review and verify the work of other mechanics.

  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.

  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.



Work Schedule



Shop hours are MondayFriday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
