Security Manager to lead tactical operations
This role requires a strong practitioner with a proven track record in physical security, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
This position is based in Philadelphia, PA with a majority of time spent on-site. This position reports to the Director of Security for RICP and will act as the Deputy SSO (Site Security Officer).
Responsibilities
Contract Security Management: You'll be responsible for overseeing the on-site contract security team, ensuring they meet performance standards and follow all established protocols.
Emergency Response: This position is central to the site's safety, responding to all real-time emergency and crisis response efforts. You will be able to react quickly to decisions made during critical incidents and follow through appropriately.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will serve as a liaison for security-related matters, working closely with various departments to integrate security measures and controls seamlessly into site operations.
Systems Management: You will play a critical role in all physical security systems, including card access and CCTV, overseeing their maintenance and continuous improvement.
Compliance and Investigations: The role involves supporting regulatory inspections and assisting in conducting sensitive investigations to ensure compliance and protect the integrity of the campus and its research.
Program Development: You will help drive the continuous improvement of the site's physical security program, implementing new strategies and technologies to enhance overall security effectiveness.
Risk and Threat Management: You will conduct regular formal and informal Risk and Vulnerability Assessments to identify gaps and weaknesses in existing security posture. This will include root cause analyses and corrective action plans
Who You Are
Requirements
5-7 years or more of experience in a public or private sector role developing, implementing, and managing security and risk mitigation programs.
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Relevant Certifications (e.g. PSP, CPP) are strongly preferred, but not required
Experience managing day to day operational aspects of an enterprise-wide security program, preferably with experience managing contract personnel and affiliated service agreements.
Proven experience in corporate security management, preferably in a cGMP Manufacturing environment.
Outstanding time management and organization skills, with an ability to consistently execute multiple, and sometimes competing, activities and projects to high quality conclusions.
Demonstrated experience in conducting vulnerability assessments and implementing security measures to mitigate risks.
Experience deploying and administering guard services, including reviewing contracts, roles, post orders, and capabilities.
