Salary Range: $50,000 - $80,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor Wire EDM and/or Sinker EDM machines.
• Load, unload, and secure workpieces and electrodes/wires accurately.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to ensure part specifications.
• Perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, optical comparators).
• Execute routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and electrode/wire changes.
• Adjust machine parameters (e.g., power, pulse duration, flush pressure) to optimize cutting performance and surface finish.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine alarms, programming errors, or process deviations.

Recommended Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating Wire and/or Sinker EDM machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, schematics, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
• Ability to set up, load programs, and operate EDM equipment to produce parts to exact specifications.
• Capability to perform in-process quality checks, identify material properties, and troubleshoot common machine or process issues.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for EDM programming.
• Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMMs, optical comparators).
• Background in tool and die making or precision machining.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
